Cycling Training camps/companies in the area

Postby ozlee on Mon May 05, 2008 8:42 pm

Any one have any experience(good or bad) with some of the cycling training companies in the area?

I've seen one's like Athleticamps, Body Concepts, Revolutions Cycling, etc.

I'm interested in taking some of the tests like VO2 Max, Power, LT.

I know several people who have gone to Body Concepts and no one has complained. All have said they got a lot for their money there.

I have no experiences with the other camps you listed.

I believe Curt (Harel) and Quinn have done V02 max tesing - I think Curt with Body Concepts and Quinn with Athleticamps. I'll shoot them an email to see if they care to comment.

I've had an LT test done by Rob @ Body Concepts, he's a good guy. He explained the results in understandable detail and the price was very fair.

I've also had a VO2 test done by Michael Richlie @ http://www.xtremeo2.com/ . It was informative, I'm not sure how valuable. He also explained things well and in depth, but in more technical terms. His rates are OK, and he'll bring his equipment to you if you get a few people together.

I second Rob at Body Concepts. I started the Peak Cycling program last fall and learned A LOT. Had to drop out due to health problems (from which, I am recovering - so hopefully I'll be out with you guys again before the year is over!). Anyway, I highly recommend either the full Peak Cycling program, or the "pay as you go" testing. Very valuable.
