I'll let you know when my co-worker buys it with HR/Cadence/and Data Card with Street maps option for over $700!!! :-)

He's just trying to figure out how to hide it from his wife!!

Get your co-worker to ride with us! I'll bet the street maps option can produce turn-by-turn directions (Cue Sheets!). And we need those!!

I am leery about how easy it will be to read a color screen in the kind of mixed lighting and blazing sun that you experience on a bike.

Hate to be the skeptic here but I think greyscale makes more sense.
What I think the product needs is a glare screen of some kind. last two times I've been out in the late afternoons, the glare off the unit was unbearable when I was climbing. I had to take it off the mount and put it in my shirt pocket.

Maybe you're on to something....a Garmin with a solar panel to help power the bike up long climbs. If you read the "At the Back" articles at Velosnooze then that would allow anyone to buy a $22,000 bike, and still be the first one back to the coffee shop. :-)
