Online Ride Log

Postby Devo on Tue Dec 18, 2007 5:13 pm

The following is link to a useful site to record your ride mileage.

http://www.bikejournal.com

Cycle Folsom is one of the listed clubs on the site. It would be fun for our group to record miles on the site to spur healthy rivalry with other local clubs like the Sacramento Bike Hikers, etc. Also helps to advertise the group.

Let's see how many miles we can post as a group in 2008!

Bike Journal

Postby steve on Fri Dec 28, 2007 3:29 pm

Great idea Mark. I haven't checked out the web site yet, but I wonder if you can log hours a well as time. I count hours in the winter when doing base miles; and then switch to miles in the late winter and early spring when I my training regimen turns to event preparation.

You can select multiple fields to put in your log including time, miles, altitude, avg speed, heart rate...just about anything you can think of

I'm in. Added my miles, now everyone else should too. Cyclefolsom is #10 in California for January 2008. Get your miles logged and we could be top 3 (ahead of the 107 member Sac Bike Hikers) even if McKinney never sees this ;-)

=- Curt

Edit: Right now we are top 100 in the country and 114 in the world.... BUT BUT BUT ... some Harbor Church Club in Folsom has us beat.

Tally 'em up folks!

I haven't put my mileage in yet either. But I'll get to it soon. With McKinney's miles, we should jump to a podium position.

Just added mine, I need to ride more!!

Only 300 miles for 2008, the last week of rain really hurt.

MIles Logged

Postby steve on Wed Feb 27, 2008 12:33 pm

I finally logged my miles on Bike Journal, but I'm sorry to report that I haven't kept a good personal log over the course of the year.

I believe my actual mileage is about twice what I have entered into the bikeforum, but those are the only miles I can confirm through saved routes on my garmin or notes in my calendar.

I'll do a better job going forward.

Interesting, our club has only 10 riders and we're way up in the national standings (I think 6th), but those clubs have 30, 40 and 50+ riders.

Steve-

Thanks for putting your miles in. I think we are 6th in California and 35th in the nation. As you said and that's with only a small amount of riders registered and even less logging their miles. If we can get McKinney to log in we could shoot right up the charts.

McKinney Miles

Postby steve on Thu Feb 28, 2008 8:34 am

We should get Scott to enter his 2007 miles. He wrote the Musing: The 10,000 Mile Stare because he actually road 10,000 miles. That might move us up a place or two in the standings.
