Partial commute from Rescue to EDH

Postby paul on Mon Jun 09, 2008 11:18 am

I've started doing a partial bike commute, parking my car in Cameron Park and riding to EDH business park, coming down Serrano Pkwy, to Silva Valley, etc. My problem is finding a safe/legal place to park in Camaron Park - any suggestions?

This morning I parked at the entrance to Bass Lake Park, near the intersection of Bass Lake Rd and Serrano Pkwy (also called Selwood Park). I'm parked off the road but am stilled concerned as to whether this is going to become a problem - I really don't want to get towed!

Thanks, Paul

Where do you want to start/end? If you parked at the Park and Ride on the North Side of Hwy 50 (or the South too) at Ponderosa road/South Shingle, you could either take Durock -> Cameron Park Drive -> Country Club -> Bass Lake -> Serrano Parkway -> Silva Valley, or:
Ponderosa road (north) -> Meder Road -> Cameron Park Drive etc.....

How much fun do you want to have while commuting? I would think that you could probably get away with parking in most public parking lots as long as you don't take premium spaces and don't make a nuisance out of yourself.

For example - there is that new longs drugs at Bass Lake Road and Green Valley - that parking lot is mostly empty most of the time. You can also probalby park in the lot at Francisco and Green Valley (Safeway) without problems.

That's exactly what I did yesterday... worked out well, and is probably at about my limit for distance/time (about 11.5 miles to work from there).

I may try the "Francisco and Green Valley (Safeway) " on days where I'm more pressed for time (or feeling lazy).

Thanks,
Paul
