5min 2sec today, with fresh legs.

I think I can get it under five here in the near future.

Three Peat

Postby steve on Tue Jan 15, 2008 2:50 pm

I'm guessing you can get it under 5 mins 2 seconds in the not too distant future ;~)

Scott, you can get it down close to 4 mins 30 seconds. You have have incredible explosiveness uphill. Next time you're heading up to Beatty give me a shout; I'll ride up there with you and we can work on a good strategy for you to attack the hill.

I have no doubt that your pesonal best on that hill will be better than mine.

YES!

It has been a while since I attacked Beatty, so today after work I decided it was time to give it another shot. I went for a short ride yesterday and my legs felt stronger than ever. This was my motivation to attack the hill today.

I rolled up to the stop sign, re-set my garmin, and I was off. I was climbing the first section with ease, not pushing my hardest ( I wanted to pace myself). About halfway up the steep section, I realized that I was still in the big chain ring in the front. With my legs still feeling strong I kept it in the large chain ring and kept pressing on. I knew 3/4 of the way up that it was the fastest time for me so far.

I reached the flatter area right before the last steep section, and I pushed hard all the way to the finish.

I stopped the clock right past the stop sign.

Total Ride Time- 4mins 24 secs

I beat my last time by over 40 secs. I stayed in the big chain ring in the front the whole time and stood for practically the entire ride. I think this helped me a lot.

Sub 4's here I come!!

Scott -

Wow 4:24 is really fast!

Please ensure you bring a tow rope with you on all future CF rides.

Good job!

Outstanding

Postby steve on Fri Feb 08, 2008 9:28 pm

4:24...that's outstanding!!

That's an excellent effort and it's the second best time that I know of for that climb (next to Derek's 4:11). Congratulations! Now we're going to have to ask you to pee in the cup.

Large chain ring! I need some ibuprophen for my knees just thinking about it. Congrats on the time. That is awesome. If you keep it up, I think by the end of the summer if not sooner you'll be hitting the 4:00 barrier. That is fast.
