Forni Road is Closed

Do you know of a road closure, debris/glass on the river trail, a new road? Please, share the knowledge!

Forni Road is Closed

Forni Road, where it leaves Placerville is closed to traffic and is no longer paved due to construction.

Alternate routes out of Placerville heading back to Folsom include Canal Street to the north side of Hwy 50, and Big Cut road to the south side (connects with Pleasant Valley Road).

Holy cow....thanks for posting this. My daughter has rehearsals up there next weekend and I was planning doing some riding up there on Sunday - I was going to use Forni for a return route. Recalc!

Another option.

When we encountered the closure we just went out to Highway 50 at the Canal Street lstop light. Heading west on Highway 50 there is a bike lane on pavement between the barrier and the dirt (barrier is between you and traffic.) Take the bike lane west to Placerville Road. Take Placerville Road west to Green Valley Road and you should be able to find your way home from there...

Good Info

Curtis, that's great info. I didn't notice the bike lane you mentioned so I rode up Canal Street and worked the long way around.

Your detour is much better than the one I used.
