Since my ealier post asking who can make it on what day(s) there has only been one response to the question.

My assessment is that there is either no real interest, our riders are not interested, interest has not been established, there has been no return on my interest...meaning it is probably a bad investment opportunity. Buy low, sell high.

Bummer

I kind of thought that posting the "No Interest" post that those who really were interested would jump in and actually indicate what days they might be able to attend.

So far:

Michele - weekends only.

I posted my availability as well as things I wanted to learn about:
Weekends or weeknights, just need lead time to arrange child care if needed.

My schedule varies so i can do some weeknights, and some weekends..depending on when my kiddo is with his dad - but probably can make adjustments as needed - just name the time and place!! Oh, and I have a workstand that I can bring along!!

I am also interested in:

Some basic info on when to do certain things and how often:
change your brake pads
change your tires and what kind for replacements (so many choices our there)
When to lube/grease certain parts etc.

Now that we are getting close to fall/winter riding what should I do differntly to my bike?

Basic tools must haves for every rider tool box!

Also if we are going to do this, I'm willing to bring anything you might need Steve (supplies, refreshments, etc...)

Why not cover what we can when most of us are standing around Blue Canyon on the 21st?

Who knows, we might find something that avoids a bad day for someone on Saturday.

I can bring a bike stand and a truing stand... and wheels to play with. (We could take one appart and and rebuilt if there is time.)

Keep in mind that the only truing anyone should be doing is to make a wheel ridable enough to get home. Unless you've built a wheel or have a spoke tensionometer there's too much opportunity to cause more problems than you are fixing. And the boys at Bicycle Planet are cheap and good.

I can testify to that - I took my rear wheel in to be trued and have a spoke tightened after an involuntary cyclocross adventure and they had it true and tight in like 10 minutes. Both of the guys there agreed that truing a wheel is something you have to do a LOT to get good at.

Great idea Curtis...you want to head that up? Put together a plan and we can give it go.

I'll bring suff and go over things I think need going over.
