Single Speed

Postby Mark on Sat May 17, 2008 9:56 pm

So I bought a new bike. A single speed 29er Specialized Stumpjumper hardtail mountain bike. I brought it home Friday...of course from Kinetic Cycles in Elk Grove. I did my first ride on it this morning, having not really ridden mountain bikes in a couple of years except out at the Prairie City races on occassion.

I didn't have much time to ride because of kids swim team but road up and road the single track and horse trails along Brown's Ravine. I fell in love with the bike, the large wheels, and the single-speed concept! I'm absolutely hooked. I think I might find myself riding my mountain bike more often.

Any other single-speeders out there? Or 29ers?

Hillary's Husband Dave is a hard-core single speed mountain biker - you should ping Hillary (hilarious) to contact him.

Glad to hear it! Send or post a phot of the bike, I'm sure we'd all love to see it.

If you're buying, I'll take a Tarmac S-Works! :-) 61 cm. I'm all good though. Thanks for asking.
